Bollywood elites don't like mingling with her, others make fun
of her, but the popularity of bold and 'bindaas' Rakhi Sawant is
growing by leaps and bounds. Post Sony TV's "Bigg Boss", she
managed to appear on Karan Johar's swish chat show "Koffee with
Karan" and now she is doing an item number in Rakesh Roshan's
"Krazy 4". "Look at my good fortune, I've been signed by Rakesh
Roshanji to do an item song in 'Krazy 4'. I had tears in my eyes
when Rakesh Roshanji called," said Rakhi, who was seen in bit roles
in "Chura Liya Hai Tumne" and "Mumbai Express".

Ratings: *** Farah Khan's second directorial venture is ready to
hit the theatres. While the movie is a much-anticipated one, the
music is getting mixed reviews from all over. Composed by the
contemporary duo Vishal-Shekhar, the soundtrack of "Om Shanti Om"
is an amalgamation of songs that belong to an earlier age.

He wasn't visible at all on the big screen last year but he's
already had four releases this year and three are in the pipeline.
After the success of "Apne", Bobby Deol's career is finally
looking up and he is upbeat about his first realistic film, being
directed by Kabeer Kaushik. "Kabeer had come to me with 'Saher'.
I didn't know what he was capable of. I get very panicky with new
directors. Now of course I'm far more confident. But at that time
'Saher' looked too similar to the Ajay Devgan film
'GangaaJal'," Bobby told IANS in an interview.

Film: "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag"; Music Director: Shantanu
Moitra; Singers; Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shubha Mudgal,
K.K., Sonu Nigam, Babul Supriyo, Swanand Kirkire, Pranab Biswas,
Mahalaxmi Iyer, Mita Vashisht, Rekha Bharadwaj; Rating: ***
Shantanu Moitra returns after his classic "Parineeta" to compose a
soundtrack for the multi-starrer "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag". While
fans of Moitra's genre will be delighted with the album, others
wouldn't be disappointed either as he creates a soundtrack that is
different, encompasses melody and doesn't miss out on the Indian
classical touch.

Kids never had it so good. After decades of neglect, the genre
of children's cinema is increasingly finding favour with the dream
merchants of Hindi filmdom. "Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii", "My Friend
Ganesha", "The Blue Umbrella" and now "Nanhe Jaisalmer" have all
hit the marquees within a span of two months. Never before have so
many films for children competed simultaneously with big-budget
potboilers for the attention of producers, distributors, exhibitors
and cine goers.

Film: "Aggar"; Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Udita
Goswami, Nauheed Cyrusi; Director: Anant Mahadevan; Rating: **
Having been assured by director Anant Mahadevan that this is an
original story, let me at the outset say writer S. Farhan has
written a riveting manuscript on the anatomy of infidelity.
Mahadevan has filmed the thriller with that trademark sparkle which
distinguishes this underrated director from his popular peers.

The two most awaited films of the year, "Saawariya" and "Om
Shanti Om", are likely to rewrite the rules of film marketing in
India. Both the films are releasing Nov 9 and the distributors have
waged an aggressive publicity campaign. Shah Rukh Khan's 6-pack
abs in "Om Shanti Om" are being used to lure the audience. In
"Saawariya", Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor, the scions of two illustrious
Bollywood families, are touted as the film's high points.

Book clubs are popular in Australia, but Bollywood Clubs? Yes,
they too exist, with more and more Australians cued on to Hindi
films. Curator Rebecca Bower, whose bedside table doesn't have
books but a laptop and Hindi film DVDs, has formed a Bollywood Club

Director Mahesh Bhatt, threatened by a person who claimed to be
underworld don Ravi Pujari for sympathising with minorities in his
film "Dhokha", says he did that to discourage him from making a
socially conscious film. Directed by Pooja Bhatt, the film,
starring Muzamil Ibrahim and Tulip Joshi, was released on Aug 31.
It revolves round a Muslim cop whose wife turns out to be a suicide
bomber. The film had an objective and neutral attitude towards all
the religion and it irked Pujari who called the Bhatts and
threatened them.

Versatile Konkona Sen Sharma, who has played a wide array of
roles and acted with many top actors, insists a long-lasting
friendship is possible in Bollywood. "Of course, lasting
friendships are possible! I've made some very good friends, like
Ranvir Shorey, Sandhya Mridul and Tara Sharma. I don't like
problems with anyone. I'm a typical laidback hassle-free
Sagittarian. Don't want to take anything to heart because it's
too much stress," Konkona told IANS.
