Wondering what we are talking about? Well, it's what he is associated with
and a complete fan he is himself, and that's classic movies. Friday evening
saw Farhan Akhtar walk into the famous bookstore at Crossword in
Juhu along with famed writer Bhawna Somaaya to launch the world classic movies series
which included ten higest rated English classic movies of all times.
The
event was hosted by Pranav AShar and Jimmy Mistry, co-founders of Enlighten,
who are the makers of one of the biggest film societies in India. Also
present was Shahana Goswani who accidentally happened to be shopping there
too. The day also marked the 50 days completion of Rock on and the company
launching 50 titles which are to be released in near future.
Entering into this new venture, says Pranav Ashar, Founder and Chairman of
Enlighten, "We have always wanted to spread world cinema, especially in
India. With the launch of this DVD collection, many people will have access
to some of the best classic movies and there'll be much more in future. At
Enlighten, High-end Entertainment meets Great Art."
While a sick Farhan came for a very short while, he managed to keep the
crowd in cheers with his witty liners and impressive persona. Speaking about
his association with the company and his love for watching classic movies,
this launch was sure meant to be done by him.
The collection includes masterpieces to contemporary cults, action, comedy,
romantic, drama, foreign language films, great commercial successes,
children films, award winning films and much more. The idea of the World's
Greatest Films is to compile the greatest films the world has ever seen of
all genres from around the world on DVD in the Indian market.
