Seasoned
actor Anupam Kher says he is not cut out for defeat. He proved it when
he performed his solo two-and-a-half hour autobiographical play "Kuch
Bhi Ho Sakta Hai" in Goa despite his illness.
"But
I had no choice. I was committed to perform my autobiographical play
from a long time. There was no way I could back out," Anupam told IANS.
He
had a severe attack of food poisoning and had been advised by doctors
to stay immobile for at least a week. He was in no condition to even
stand properly Wednesday night, but he performed without any support
from any other actor.
"It was just my craft, I had hundreds of
people staring at me, probably waiting for me to collapse since I was
so visibly weak. Sorry, I'm just not cut out for defeat," said the
actor who is getting ready to direct another film early next year.
"The
experience of 'Om Jai Jagdish' not working out hasn't soured me at all.
I'm all set to direct another film. The one thing that I know about is,
it won't star Anil Kapoor this time."
If Anupam's friendship
with Anil has gone kaput, he has a lot to be happy about with his other
best friend Satish Kaushik - with whom he recently launched a
production company called Karol Bagh Film & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
"Our production company is going great guns," Anupam declared happily.
