Neha Dhupia launches jewellery amid media fracas

Bollywood
actress Neha Dhupia was in the capital to launch a new jewellery
collection of Gitanjali Gems but the event turned chaotic with media
persons mobbing her and bouncers trying to keep them away.
The
event, held at The Park Hotel Thursday night, saw Neha unveil the new
jewellery collection called Sporteratti - a new line of bracelets
specially designed for the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championship.
But
the venue turned out to be too small to accommodate the eager
journalists, toppling over one another to get a photo-op. There was
neither proper seating arrangement nor place to stand.
But Neha,
however, did manage to launch the collection despite altercations among
cameramen, bouncers and hotel staff. And she seemed to be enjoying
every bit of the media attention.
"It is a pleasure visiting
Delhi. And I find the response more overwhelming every time than my
previous visit," the former Miss India remarked.
The collection is a creative effort of Gitanjali Gems and Digico, a Hong Kong based group.
"Lawn
tennis has been one of my favourite sports since my childhood. I thank
Gitanjali for giving me this opportunity to launch their new
collection," Neha said.
"This association will help our company
earn global renown and will also aid us in our strategic initiative to
position Gitanjali as a platform for India's finest jewellery brands,"
said Manjunath Jyotinagar, president of Gitanjali Gems.
Models sashayed down the red carpet, showcasing the jewellery created in gold and diamonds set in black and transparent polymer.
