 Of late Peepli Live is making headlines for the reasons that no
films or film-makers wishes it does. Recently the Allahabad High Court
issued a notice to the makers of the film for using non-parliamentary
languages in the film. Now with this issue there is a rift between the
makers and the producers of the film.
This is not the first time
that Aamir has interfered in the film-making process which has made the
makers uncomfortable. While the film has been directed by Anusha Rizvi
and produced by Aamir Khan the film is being known as Aamir’s film. But
Mr. Khan had no problem in letting that happen and didn’t try to put
forth the director’s name.
The split between Rizvi and Khan took
place during the filming and the release, however, for the sake of the
movie the director continued to put up a brave front. The final straw in
the rift was when Aamir snubbed and ignored the actual makers of the
film in UK. Both Rizvi and her husband Mahmud Farooqui has come out in
the open and criticized the actor for muscling into the creative zone as
well as on the editing table of the film.
It is known that Aamir
loves to be get involved in every bit of a film of which he is part of
and has even taken over the reigns of directing from Amol Gupte for Taare Zameen Par. Vidhu Vinod Chopra made it a point to add a clause so that Aamir does not interfere in the filming of 3 Idiots, once the shooting start.
So
this news of Aamir making his power felt for Peepli live is not new,
but his hankering and grabbing the limelight and the credit for the film
is or may be not since the film is the official Indian entry for the
Oscars.
