The eventful life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will be
encapsulated in a three-volume biography being commissioned by
close friend and filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. Gupta is bringing out the
biography as his tribute to the actor. To be penned by journalist
and author Neelesh Mishra, work on the biography is expected to
start in August.
"I don't think Sanju's (Sanjay Dutt's) life can be
encapsulated in one book. His life isn't only exceptionally
eventful, but also very inspiring," Gupta told IANS.
"We've decided to divide Sanju's story into three volumes. The
first volume takes us to the period when he went into
rehabilitation for drugs. The second volume goes through his
marriage with Richa Sharma, the divorce and her tragic death. In
the final volume we'll go through Sanju's court procedure,
probation and beyond."
"This would be Sanju's no-holds-barred story," he said.
Dutt would be personally sitting with the writer sharing his
darkest fears and thoughts.
Author Mishra, also a lyricist said: "Sanjay Dutt's life is an
amazing story. It mirrors the sunshine and darkness of Bollywood
itself. I see it as a very challenging international project, far
more difficult than the three books I've written so far. Hope I do
justice to it."
Gupta said he would bring out two other books - on the making of
his next autobiographical film "Alibaug" and the screenplays of his
short story features in "Dus Kahaniya".
