Bollywood star Amrita Arora looked wild as she walked the ramp,
while twirling around several times much to the audience's
pleasure, at designer duo Shane and Falguni Peacock's show at the
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Sunday. Moving away from
their usual embroidery-laden designs, the Peacocks this time
experimented with more of gemmed and jewelled embellishments for
their garments.
"Our collection is generally associated with heavy embroidered
clothes. But this time we have tried to do something different by
embellishing the clothes with a lot of gems, beads and jewels
giving the collection a more funky and fun look.
"Also, this time around we have tried to give our line a more
western touch," Shane Peacock told IANS.
While Arora walked in a pink dress, liberally embellished with fur
and gemstones, other models sashayed by in a variety of dresses of
all lengths and cuts.
With an array of necklines, from the regular V shapes to deep
squares, halter necks and asymmetric ones, the collection had
full-length dresses with trains, shirt-collared and puff-sleeved
dresses, see-through shirts teamed with shorts and off-shoulder
tops teamed with capris among others.
The colour palette encompassed bright hues of yellows, pinks,
orange, green and mellow shades of grey with sparkling print
detailing and a tad bit of leopard prints.
Fabrics used were chiffons, satins, linens, mulls and Lycra.
Embellishments included sequin work, crystal work and gemstones and
brooches.
"This is the first time I am walking the ramp for Shane and Falguni
and I simply love their collection! It's very colourful, fun and
fashionable, and very comfortable as well," Arora gushed.
"The dress that I am wearing for them today is in my favourite
colour-pink. I couldn't ask for more," she added.
