 Asit Modi the producer of the hit serial ’ Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah
Chashmah’ was all set to produce a serious serial titled ’Meri Maa’
with writers like Charudutt Acharya, Rajesh Berry, Jayesh Patil. All
these guys would finally report to the creative designer Niraj Naik
(UTV) and the project head Niraja Roa.
“Asit had high hopes from the people but none of them actually were
fruitful. However, he had boldly declared that he is coming up with a
new project wherein he will surely prove to be good at serious
deliverance too. The story is based on the lines of film Mother India.
He was very confident venturing onto the serious genre he will succeed
in making the audiences cry after making them laugh in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka
Ooltah Chashmah’ on Sony Sab,” confirms the source.
“It is sad to note that Mr. Modi’s team will now make the world
laugh and the channel cry. The idea of the project was given by the
Sony channel and the writers’ team was to develop it further but the
story always remained where it was and what kept on developing was the
budget.... Phew! The project has been shelved,” adds the source.
Niraja Rao refused to comment. Actually Asit Modi has to take the Media call so kindly contact him.”
Asit says,” Whether, the serial is based on Mother India or not,
cannot be revealed. Also on the serial being shelved he adds,” We have
some business issues with the channel. We are in the process of sorting
it out things which will turn favourable after the issues are sorted
out amicably in day or two. On the script he clarifies that the channel
is happy the way the script has turned out to be. ”
Well! There seems to be a ray of hope for Meeri Ma. We sincerely
hope Asit Modi Ka ‘Ooltah Chashmah’ turns seedha for the channel.
