Zee TV’s most popular show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ has made it to the
international level now. Recently, the show has received an
international acclaim at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2010. It
has won the esteemed Jury's Special Prize at the function, which was
organized at the well-known Korean Broadcasting System Hall in Seoul,
South Korea.
The show has gained good TRPs in India following
the jail drama of ‘Manav’ and Archana’s increasing closeness to him.
Now, this award is an added feather to its already popular crown. It has
become the first Indian show to get noticed as well as an honor in
Korea.
The story of a middle class Maharashtrian family has
been liked and praised by the viewers in Korea. Charu Singh, Deputy Vice
President of Programming in Zee TV, received the award.
The
award ceremony is in its fifth year now and the stalwarts from across
the international television fraternity attended the event. Actors,
directors, script-writers, technicians and producers from the countries
like Japan, Malaysia, Canada, UK and the US, graced the event with their
presence.
Mr. Sukesh Motwani, Programming Head- Fiction of Zee
TV, was quoted saying that the simplicity of ‘Pavitra Rishta’ is its
beauty. He added that they were sure the Indian people will love the
serial but this honor at SDA has come as delightful surprise for the
team.
It is definitely an achievement for the team of ‘Pavitra
Rishta’ as the show has been able to create an identity across the
borders and impress the viewers in spite of the language, culture and
country barrier.
