Youngsters have changed face of Bollywood: Satish Shah

Seasoned
actor and comedian Satish Shah says that youngsters who have gained
ground in Bollywood have changed the film industry, making it more
corporate by nature. "The
young lot of actors, directors and producers are extremely talented.
Full of zeal, they have changed the face of Bollywood. The film
industry has now become more corporate in its functioning," Shah told
IANS in an interview.
"Earlier artistes had to ask for their
own money but now money comes right home. Financial dealings are easy
and transparent now," he added.
The actor pointed out that
the new generation directors believe in teamwork and the earlier
'one-man show' concept has taken a back seat.
"It is lots of
fun to work with debutant directors. They believe in teamwork and take
the suggestion of seniors for even the smallest of things, unlike
earlier veterans."
Shah's Bollywood career spans over two
decades and he has left audiences in splits with movies like "Jaane Bhi
Do Yaaro", "Kal Ho Naa Ho" and "Masti". He, however, stresses that
doing comedy is tougher than it seems.
"Comedy is the most difficult genre. It needs a great script and lots of hard work."
He is now looking forward to his upcoming project "Bhootnath".
"I am playing the role of a boy's school principal. It is a very cute comedy and will take audiences on a laugh ride," he said.
The film by Vivek Sharma also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan.
Happy as an actor, Shah has no plans to take to direction.
"I
am lazy by nature and I believe in leading a comfortable life. Acting
is fine with me. An actor's work finishes as soon as the shoot is over.
But directors carry work to their homes. And that is not my cup of
tea".
Satish is set to make audiences laugh with his
performance in E. Nivas' "De Taali", Satish Kaushik's "Milenge
Milenge", Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla and Mastan Alibhai Burmawalla's "Mr.
Fraud".
"In a month's time I will start shooting for a film
named "Dhoom Dhadaka". In the film I will share screen space with
Anupam Kher," added Shah, reluctant to divulge any details.
