 Anoushka Shankar who is currently performing on the 7 city tour with her father Pt. Ravi Shankar was recently left shocked when a fire broke out at the place where they were supposed to perform.
Says Anoushka," We were to play a large show at UC Davis (University of
California in Davis) for 2,000 people. It was meant to start at 8 p.m.
But five minutes prior to the show, an electrical fire broke out. All
of us evacuated from backstage and the entire audience was evacuated
too. Six fire engines were called to take charge of the situation. We
were all wondering whether the concert will happen at all. By 8:40 they
said it had been taken care of and the venue started filing people back
inside, and we started the concert by 9:15 and continued on as usual
Thank God there was no damage done and everything went off smoothly.
