Adnan Sami fails to impress in 'Dhamaal'

Album: "Dhamaal"; Music Director: Adnan Sami; Singers: Adnan
Sami, Shaan, Amit Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Naveen, Raghav Sachar, DJ
Sandeep Shirodkar; Ratings: *1/2. All-boys seems to be the theme
for Indra Kumar's "Dhamaal" - not only is the star cast packed
with male stars like Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh,
Ashish Chaudhary and Sohail Khan but the singers list too is
crowded with men like Adnan Sami, Shaan and Amit Kumar.
But Adnan's endeavour to create music doesn't really hit the
top as anyone could have come up with these tracks.
"Chal nache shor machalein" is a complete Shaan and Adnan number.
With minor disco beats thrown in, Adnan attempts to make a peppy,
lively and thumping number. But finally the track lacks fizz.
Next, Adnan ropes in Asha Bhosle and Amit Kumar for "Chandani raat
hai saiyan". In spite of Asha giving her best, the track doesn't
turn out that well.
Shaan and Adnan pair up once again in "Dekho dekho dil ye bole" and
render a better track. With loud and somewhat thunderous music
arrangements and Sameer's zingy lyrics, the song will play a major
part in the film.
One wonders what went wrong with Sameer's lyrical talent when you
get to hear "Miss India maartee mujhpe". With gibberish written all
over it, this song has Adnan crooning along with Amit Kumar.
The mistake in this album lies in Indra Kumar roping in a musician
who's known for music of a completely different genre.
