Malayalam is 'really tough', says Tamil star Vijay

Tamil cinema's action hero Vijay says he can't act in a Malayalam film because he is unfamiliar with the "really tough" language.

"I have been offered roles, but you know Malayalam is really tough so I have not gone ahead with the offers," Vijay told reporters here.

He was in the city to celebrate the 75th day celebrations of his latest Tamil blockbuster "Pokkiri", his 46th film.

Though Vijay has never worked in a Malayalam film, the actor is hugely popular in Kerala and even has a fans association here. Asked why, he shot back: "It is for you to find out."

He was careful not to talk about politics. "I am not interested in politics..." Vijay said when asked who would make the better chief minister - J. Jayalalitha or M. Karunanidhi.

The star said he had no problems in acting with rival Ajith: "The problem is a script and if it is there, why not?"
