Shooting For Mathilukalkkappuram To Start By November

 Malayalam film megastar, Mammootty, will start shooting for his next
project Mathilukalkkappuram, by the end of this November. Nayantara will
play the female lead in this movie.
This movie is a sequel of
the National Award winning Malayalam movie Mathilukal, which was
directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan in 1989. This film is again an
adaptation of a novel titled ‘Mathilukal’ by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer.
Mammootty
played the lead role in the original movie also. Actors like Murali,
Karamana, Janardanan Nair, Krishnan Kutty Nair and Azeez played other
important roles in this movie. The film was screened at the Venice Film
Festival and received well recognition there.
In the meantime,
Mammootty will start filming for another new movie tentatively titled as
'August 15', which is also a sequel of the movie August 1. He will
start shooting for this movie from the 15th of this month. Mammootty
will revive the role of an investigative officer called Perumal, which
was the main character in the original film. S N Swamy is writing the
script for this movie, which will be directed by Shaji Kailash.
Mammootty is now busy giving final touches to his debut Kannada movie 'Shikaari'.
