Sriram Raghavan, whose debut film "Ek Hasina Thi" had won him
rave reviews, is back with another thriller. "Johnny Gaddaar ",
Raghavan's second directorial venture, will narrate the story of
five friends who plan to do something together but one of them
tries to play a spoilsport by betraying them for his individual
gain.
"It is a suspense thriller that shows how a person tries to
double cross his friends for his personal motives but all his plans
backfire. The film is based in Mumbai and has been shot in Mumbai,
Pune and Goa," said Raghavan.
He added that the film would be released in mid-September.
Raghavan's "Ek Hasina Thi" (2004), which starred Saif Ali Khan and
Urmila Matondkar, was a suspense potboiler. It received a lukewarm
response at the box office but was loved by those who saw it.
Raghavan has been a movie buff since childhood and has always
wanted to direct films. The talented director has taken a gamble
this time by casting a fresh face, Neil. He however insists that he
is very confident about his story and that is the reason why he
went ahead and chose a debutante actor.
"I know that my story is good. I'm very confident about it.
Moreover, I'm happy to have Neil on board. He worked as an
assistant director with the Yash Raj camp and the best part of
having a fresh face is that the audience do not have a preconceived
image about an actor," he said.
Raghavan added that he is also working on an adventure film but did
not reveal any further details about its theme.
