Indian music maestro A.R.Rahman has bagged yet another prestigious honour in the form of Crystal Award for his contribution in the field of art and music. On Wednesday, the award was conferred at the opening ceremony of annual meet of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The event was organized by 2,500 global leaders from the field of art, culture, business and religion. They came from more than 11 countries.

Music composer A.R. Rahman has proved time and again that his renditions are certainly amongst the best ever compositions in the world. However, when such works of art are appreciated by the right authorities it does add a feather in his already feathered cap.

We all remember Singer Himesh Reshammiya I suppose! Yes, he is the singer with the nasal twang who became immensely popular in Bollywood, few years back with his catchy songs which were both sung and directed by him.  There was something about this guy, he was unique. Academy Awards winner Indian music maestro A.R.Rahman, who bagged the Golden Globe Award last time for his tracks in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, failed to impress the juries this year. Rahman, who won double Oscars, last year, was nominated for the 68th Annual Golden Globes Awards along with other International musicians.

The popular Bollywood item numbers that have taken up the nation by a storm, 'Munni Badnaam Hui' and 'Sheila Ki Jawani', have come under the scanner as social activist Nutan Thakur has filed a petition on December 23rd 2010 at the Allahabad High court demanding an immediate ban on the two numbers due to the indecent content and lack of morality.

The blows never seem  to end for  singer-composer Adnan Sami. After being hounded by his former wife  to every court in town Adnan’s property has been confiscated by the Enforcement Directorate apparently because he is a Pakistani national.
