Arshad becomes action hero in 'Sunday'

Funny man Arshad Warsi is now an expert in hanging from a crane at a height of 60 feet, as he readies to turn action hero in Rohit Shetty's film "Sunday".

"I've been shooting action scenes for 'Sunday' hanging from a crane at a height of 60 feet with nothing below me ... And I've a vertigo problem! Earlier Rohit put me up on a long rickety ladder and I nearly passed out. It has been a very scary experience," Arshad told IANS.

This is the first time Arshad is doing stunt sequences since his first film "Tere Mere Sapne" 12 years ago.

"I had jumped down from a height of 30 feet for a song with no buffer. I'm good at action. All the fighters on the sets also tell me to do more action. I never connect my fist with their face and it looks like I've driven a wild punch. I've always been sporty. In school I used to excel at games. When I came into movies I pined to do the daredevilry. But I was typecast in comedy," the actor said.

But now things are about to change. "I love to flip, roll and somersault for the camera. Nobody except Rohit thought of utilising that. Now in 'Sunday' people will see me as an action hero. In fact he put in an action sequence just for me!"

Rohit Shetty is so impressed by Arshad's efforts as an action hero that he has decided to cast Ajay Devgan and Arshad in a full-on action flick. "(It's) on the lines of 'Tango and Cash'. I'm really looking forward to it," Arshad said.
