 Deepika Padukone, the star with the penchant for portraying romantic roles is
very soon going to be seen as a star with a serious tinge. Her forth coming
Ashutosh Gowarikar film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey with co-star Abhishek
Bachchan will see her in the role of a young girl in Bengal helping out in the
struggle to freedom.
Deepika Padukone, who was a ramp model before her debut in Bollywood with
Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om opposite none other than Shahrukh Khan, was
extremely well received by the audiences. After that she has appeared in most
films as the romantic lead with most roles giving her a glamorous look as she
portrayed such characters in those films.
The star has always been well appreciated for her level headedness and
positive stance, and besides that her movies like Bachchna Ae Haseeno, Love
Aaj Kal, Karthik Calling Karthik, Housefull, and the just released
Break Ke Baad all saw her depicting characters that had a strong
positive strait in them. The roles that the star portrayed also had her in some
of the most exclusive designer wear; this sort of became a trend setter amongst
all youngsters who loved to follow Bollywood fashion trends. Due to this the hot
and sexy star also became one of the hot favorites amongst the stars in the
current crop of actors.
The forth coming release Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey will see her in a
totally different avatar. She will be seen in stark cotton saris with her long
hair tied in two plaits, with minimal make up and very down to earth mannerisms.
Reportedly she has done an excellent job and is very convincing as the freedom
fighter character depicted by her in the movie.
