Slumdog sweeps 8 Oscars

Slumdog millionaireIf you are an Indian and you watched the Oscars then definitely you are feeling like a millionaire. Slumdog has gone where no Indian has ever been before! Yes, it has swept the most prestigious award in the world as the best film of the 81st Academy Awards. A. R. Rahman besides having his mother in the auditorium also has two Oscars in his kitty now, one for the best original score and the other for Jai Ho.

India has finally arrived on the international platform for excellence in cinema, though at the moment we have ridden the able shoulders of Brit director Danny Boyle. He deservedly did pick the award for best director. And this achievement has undoubtedly raised our confidence sky high. It’s a happy thought that sooner than later we will be bringing many more Oscars to our shores and the next time to do so shall be the Bollywood craftsmen. Once again Jai Ho.
