 Time and again, star sisters have been eventually falling prey to
the glamorous world of cinema, watching their sibling working wonders
on the silver screen. Some have made it big or lagged and someone also
go beyond what their sisters could have imagined. With Ayesha Takia’s
sister Natasha Takia at a threshold of a glam career in tinsel town, we
go back to past and list down some beautiful star sisters who stepped
into elder one’s shoes.
Karishma and Kareena Kapoor: Prithvi Raj Kapoor would have been
shell shocked to see Kapoor khandan ki betiyan flaunting their size
zero in bikinis on the big screen. Karishma was the undisputed queen of
the 90’s and early 2000 with films like Zubeidaa, Dil Toh Pagal Hai,
Fiza and Raja Hindustani, which also celebrate her innings in industry.
The legacy of Kapoors’ to outshine continued with Kareena who is
currently one of the highly paid actresses. She played her
actor-prowess with her debut venture, but her career graph has recently
taken a boost with films like Jab We Met and Kambakkht Ishq.
Shilpa and Shamita Shetty: There is something magical about the
Shetty sisters. Both Shilpa and Shamita carry loads of oomph factor
with grace. Shilpa’s career sprang up with the ‘Big Brother’ and then
there was no looking back. Shamita too is making her presence felt, and
doesn’t let herself go off the mind of her audience. Well, looking at
Shilpa’s career, little sister seems to believe in the proverb ‘Slow
and steady wins the race’. What say Shamita?
Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee: It does not seem to be working for
Tanisha. She is lagging far behind what her sister has achieved so far.
Yes, ever-beautiful Kajol Mukherjee still makes many a hearts go
flutter for her well-defined features. One of the most celebrated
actresses till date, Kajol has very few films to her credit, but has
come up with box-office success every time. Looking at the success
parameter of elder sister, Tanisha too stepped into B-town. However,
things did not prove fruitful with her. In fact, what compounded to her
misery were the evident comparisons with her sister and mother, which
she had to face, plus the brutal comparison with her sister somehow
snubbed her chances.
Amrita and Malaika Arora: Sexy-siren Malaika still looks jaw
dropping hot with her ever-toned body. Malaika has no qualms to be
titled item girl, which is something she graciously lives up to.
Although, her sister Amrita has jumped into the serious business of
acting, she is yet to make a mark for herself. However, one thing that
makes the Arora sisters’ a league apart is their confidence to move on
in the industry despite being married, as they say female-actors have
less scope once they enter the world of marriage.
