Audiences were awestruck as sultry Bollywood actress Celina
Jaitley walked the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp
for fashion designer Varun Bahl. "Varun is very talented, in fact
the right word for him is 'creator'. I have landed in Delhi from
London this morning just for his show, to support him," Celina said
Saturday.
The show "Unpredictable - A Tribute by Bahl for Essenza Di
Wills" was conceptualised to reflect the designers' happy state of
mind.
"My collection has loads of bright colours and is very young," Bahl
told IANS after the show.
The palette had colours like smoky lilac, lime green, ivory, dirty
green, blue, deep pink and yellows.
"He has extensively used green in the line, which is my favourite
colour, as it is symbolic of the season spring and life," added
Celina.
Fabrics like net, muslin, linen and crepe were used to design
A-line dresses with fitted sleeves and paired with shorts or pants.
"I love the outfit he has designed for me. No doubt a celebrity
steals the show. And why not? People associate themselves with
celebrities and adapt their style and it gives more publicity to
the designer and the collection," said Celina.
The show ended with models walking the ramp in black outfits and
flower gear heads after a visual tribute to fashion critic Isabella
Blow.
