Right
now she is focussed on the Miss Earth pageant, but Indian contestant
Pooja Chitgopekar says she would be willing to try her luck in
Bollywood later.
"To
be honest, I have never said no to good opportunities," said
Chitgopekar who was here to attend a World Environment Day event late
Saturday. "At present, my sole focus is to win Miss Earth. After that
if something good comes up, I'm definitely not going to say no to it."
The svelte Chitgopekar said modelling was definitely a stepping-stone for people who wanted to pursue a career in movies.
"This
profession gives a platform to models to be seen by the country," she
said. "Obviously if you are a Miss India, you will be in the public eye
and directors and producers will definitely notice you."
Chitgopekar,
who is studying to become a doctor, said she has kick-started her
preparations for the Miss Earth 2007 contest to be hosted by
Philippines in late October.
"I have begun my physical training
and am doing my workouts," she said. "It's slow right now but from the
month of July, I begin my intensive training."
