Saris: Hot And Back In Vogue Like Never Before

Saris Saris are back in vogue. Well, not that they were ever totally out of it though. However, with the trend to try on more and more variations in the traditional garment more and more designers are now focusing on getting the sari back in the most contemporary styles possible to create magic for the style conscious modern consumers who want the fashion quotient at ever event like never before.

Just like the celebrities that consumers keep admiring on the international and national circuit every woman on the street is ready to try on something different which has brought about a huge demand in the designer range of saris at every conceivable level of price tag.

Thus, if there is a ready-made sari to suit a mid budget range there is a parallel ready to wear segment in the upper range bracket that can create magic for the common woman, a non celebrity to enjoy the look of a celebrity just by draping herself in one of those high end beautifully innovated version of the traditional sari.

Designer houses like Fabindia have come up reportedly with a new segment in the saris which has traditional saris with the most modern touch and these are paired with cholis in either silk or cotton.

This is a great innovative technique where in artisans from 17 different community based companies work in co-ordination and the villagers who work in them get quite a sizeable amount from the profit.

According to reports, Fabindia has some  basic lines of saris- the ‘Traditional’ line which is given a modern touch, the ‘Revival’ range wherein the traditional range like the Jamdaanis, Chanderis, Maheswaris, Kalamkaris, Ikkats and many traditional forms are given a modern twist to entice women to go for them once more.

With women becoming more and more fashion conscious at the same time yearning for comfort and a smart look, choices range from picking up the cocktail dresses cum sari look to the ready to wear range where only a button here and the zip there would do the trick in minutes are certainly the choice that is fast catching up. However,with more more fashion houses taking in so much time and effort, the sari is not going to be forgotten in a hurry!
