The more the delay, the less chance of it succeeding. We’re using this line for
the second time in a matter of two weeks. First it was used for Swastik Pictures
‘Mahabharat’ and their proposed show on Colors, and now it’s Ekta Kapoor’s turn
to sweat on the future of her show for Star One. Unfortunately, the word
emanating from the gossip mills isn’t in favour of ‘Fanaa’.
If sources are to be believed, Ekta’s desi Twilight might not get to
see the
light at the end of the tunnel.
“The casting of ‘Fanaa’ is still to be done. The show that was
earlier
supposed to launch during the second week of June, has been indefinitely
delayed. Things are not moving as expected. Star One itself has been
struggling.
There is even some talk that the project might simply not take off,”
said a
source.
Interestingly, ‘Fanaa’ was the first among three new shows that
Balaji
Telefilms conceptualized this year. ‘Sarvagunn Sampann’ and ‘Tere Liye’
have
already been launched, while ‘Fanaa’ is still conducting its auditions.
Ekta Kapoor remained unavailable for comment.
Well, it could be premature to write off ‘Fanaa’. Ekta is known to
take the
rabbit out of the hat. Things could get going again. The viewers
certainly will
want to see this desi version of Twilight.
