Indian Television: Set To Revive Magic In 2011
|
|
For the past year or so, Indian television has been fascinated by magic
like never before. Many shows on channels like Star One, SAB TV and
Nickelodeon have been airing shows with magic as the centre or basic
line and it is certainly quite a refreshing change for kids and grownups
alike as it provides a rare insight into the world of mystery and charm
right into their homes.
There were times when magic shows were
held regularly and these stage shows would always run to packed houses
with every age group enjoying the art thoroughly. However, with time,
the art quite faded into the dark corners making way for other
entertainment offerings which was quite a bad phase for most magicians
who had learnt the art with such great effort.
However, with many
television channels making an effort to revive the art form and getting
some magic based shows up for grabs, there has again been a great spurt
in magic shows and a keen interest has again developed towards this
dying art.
Thus with shows like ‘India’s Magic Star’ and ‘Comedy
Circus Ka Jadoo’ which were quite popular throughout last year, this
year too has some great magic based serials and real live shows lined up
to thrill the audiences.
Up in line on SAB TV is the serial
'Ring Wrong Ring', which will have a young housewife being given a
magical ring by her demised father- in law who talks to her through his
picture hung up on the living room wall. Then there is 'Gilli Gilli
Gappa' which will have magic tricks strewn all over with a fun element
to it. 'Tricky TV' is yet another series to begin on Nickelodeon which
will teach kids some real magic with absolute energy packed in.
So, for all you magic lovers, this is going to be a year of great fun!
