After proving his mettle on the cricket field, speedster S.
Sreesanth has now put his acting skills to test with the release of
a music video featuring him. The video of the song "Jago India" in
which Sreesanth has acted with a few models was released here
Friday. It is the first song of a ten-song Hindi music album by the
same name.
Besides appearing in the video, the Kerala pacer has also penned
the lyrics of the song Madhu Balakrishnan has sung. His elder
brother Dipu Santhan is the producer of the album.
"The song has been sung by Madhu, my brother-in-law, and penned by
me. I have been writing songs for some time. First, I write in
English and then translate into Malayalam," Sreesanth said.
The video was to be released during the World Cup in the Caribbean
earlier this year. But with India's shock first-round exit from
the quadrennial event, the release was postponed indefinitely.
Friday's release was strategically timed just ahead of the
Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa to inspire the national team.
Sreesanth said he was expecting to do well in the Twenty20 event in
South Africa. He also said he hoped to play in his hometown Kochi
in the ensuing one-day series against Australia.
"I am confident of playing in front of my home crowd here when
India meets Australia in the one-day series after the South Africa
tour," he said.
