'Mungaru Male' a mega Kannada hit

"Mungaru Male" is a super hit and everybody in filmdom is talking about its huge success. The top five Kannada films are:

1. "Mungaru Male" - The film is creating records everywhere. The collections in cities have not come down even a bit. The film is expected to do business worth Rs.120 million. The film's hero, Ganesh, has become a youth icon.

2. "Duniya" - "Duniya" has a new director in Soori and a new star cast also. But that has not made it any less of a success than a big-budget, star-studded film in terms of collections. The collections are exceptionally good in Bangalore, Mysore and other major centres. The film's main strength lies in its stark realism and fight sequences.

3. "Ekadantha" - Going by the viewer's reaction, the film, released March 16, may prove to be a big hit. Vishnuvardhan's performance is the highlight of the movie.

4. "Arasu" - This film has completed 50 days recently. Its collections have been good in major centres like Bangalore and Mysore. Despite stiff competition from "Mungaru Male", Puneet Raj Kumar's film has been able to sustain its run.

5. "Preethigaagi" - A Ramu Enterprises production, "Preethigaagi" has been released on the eve of the Ugadi festival. The festival holidays and the coming summer months may help boost the film's collections.
