Kamal Haasan was obstinate over not succumbing to the protests of Hindu
Makkal Katchi that insisted him to delete the song ‘Kannodu’ (Kamal
Kavidhai’ from his upcoming release Manmadhan Ambu. The actor justified
that there is no need to delete the song as it doesn’t carry any such
factors hurting the feelings of Hindu community.
During his
promotional tour in Kerala, the actor had clearly mentioned that he
wouldn’t delete the song as even censor board officials showed green
signal to it. Perhaps with the protests demonstrated outside his office
herein Chennai by the group of Hindu Makkal Katchi, the actor had no
options other than surrendering to the situation.
In the press
release issued through his spokesperson Nikil Murugan, Kamal Haasan has
mentioned that he concerned over the interests of his producers and
since Udhayanidhi Stalin didn’t want to get the film drenched in
unwanted issues, he is blue-pencilling the track.
The song
‘Kannodu’ rendered by Kamal Haasan and Trisha focalizes on woman’s
desire and involves the names of Hindu Gods like Aranganathar and Sri
Varalakshmi.
Manmadhan Ambu is touted to be a rom-com with the
right mix of comedy, sentiments, emotions and action. Apart from Kamal
Haasan and Trisha, Madhavan plays the lead role along with Sangeetha,
Kannada actor Ramesh Aravind and Suriya in a cameo role.
