Bollywood Queen Kareena Kapoor has been signed to play the female
lead in Salman Khan’s next movie Bodyguard, which is a remake of a
Malayalam film starring Dileep and Nayantara.
Salman and Kareena’s last film Main Aurr Mrs Khanna bombed at the Box
office but this has not discouraged Bebo to pair with Salman again. It
may be the effect of Salman’s latest blockbuster hit Dabangg that has
encouraged Kareena to take up the role.
There is a buzz that Salman’s sister Alvira and her husband actor
Atul Agnihotri have signed Kareena for Bodyguard. Siddique, who directed
the original Malayalam version of the movie, will also direct the Hindi
version. The film is likely to start rolling in December and will
revolve around Salman’s character. However, it will have some powerful
female performance too.
Atul was quoted saying that after watching the original Malayalam
version, he was convinced that only Kareena can do justice to the role
in the Hindi version. There was also a rumor about Katrina being
considered for the female lead. However, Atul cleared the air saying
that whenever a film is launched the producers undergo a thought process
of which of the three top actresses can be cast. They have also gone
under the same process to shortlist who will be best suited Salman in
this movie, he added. Atul further added that they never approached any
other actress as they were convinced from the beginning that Kareena is
best suitable for the character.
The movie is being produced by Atul and Alvira and renowned music director Pritam is scoring is music.
